Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom confirmed they have broken up after six years engaged and seven years dating.Sources explained the breakup was “a long time coming” and that the couple has been spending time apart during Perry’s Lifetimes Tour.Perry and Bloom share one child, 4-year-old Daisy, and are “amicable” as they navigate their new relationship as co-parents.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have split after seven years together, Us Weekly reports. The couple got engaged in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, 4-year-old Daisy Dove, in 2020. The news was confirmed on July 3 with a statement shared from their reps to People, reading:

“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”

A source close to them gave Us Weekly more insight, saying, “Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”

The breakup was “a long time coming. [Things] have been tense for months,” the source said, adding, “[They] have been living apart since Katy has been on tour.”

A second source explained distance contributed to their issues: “Katy has been very busy working, and they are apart often. That has caused tension.” The insider noted that despite their years-long engagement, they “never set a date for the wedding or got around to planning anything, and Orlando is ‘over it.’”

They are prioritizing their daughter now, a source close to them told the outlet. “They are still very much in touch and co-parenting Daisy together,” the insider explained. “Orlando brought Daisy to meet Katy on tour before heading to the Bezos wedding. It’s not messy between them.”

They are figuring out their family’s new normal as they end their romantic partnership, the source said. As they do that, “they aren’t making drastic changes for Daisy’s sake. They will keep their lives in Montecito, [California, where they live]. They are prioritizing stability and consistency for Daisy.”

On June 13, a source told People that their relationship was “pretty much done,” adding that the former couple does not “really see them[selves] being able to turn things around here.”

The issues had been there for quite some time, the source shared: “It’s been breaking down the last couple of months and isn’t looking good.”

A few days earlier, several sources told the publication that tension rose during the release of her latest album, 143.

“Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,” one source said. “It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.”

A second insider said of Perry, “She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews. It’s put stress on their relationship.”

The former couple’s last public outing was in March 2025 at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. During the weekend of June 21 and 22, Bloom was seen with Daisy in Perth, Australia, where Perry was touring. The couple wasn’t photographed together.

They have broken up before, taking time apart in 2017. In September 2024, Perry shared during her Call Her Daddy interview, “We weren’t really in it from day one. He was because he had just done a huge time of celibacy, and he had set intentions. I was fresh out of a relationship, and I was like, I can’t do this anymore. I need to swim in a different pond, but I had to do a lot real work.”

She added of her mentality versus his, “He wasn’t playing that cat-mouse game anymore. I was like, ‘This is boring. I’m moving on.’ I was so used to this push-pull. Because once you have it. I was playing games.”

She then shared that she and Bloom attended couples therapy to help maintain their relationship.

“We want to evolve....Why we’re in our relationship is to become better humans so we can raise this beautiful human being, [Daisy Dove],” she said. “It’s been different layers. The more we do the work, the more we find the next level. And sometimes we get stuck, and we’re like, ‘OK, let’s go in to do the work and this is going to be annoying, and I don’t want to do it. We don’t have the time. I’m tired.’ But we’re gonna do it. And we find the next level. That’s why we’re continuing in the relationship.”
