Thanks for the quick reply. I'm running Win 10 Pro version 1607 build 14393.1066. Could the problem be that I have Bitdefender installed. I tried turning off the Bitdefender scan but still get the same results which is no response when I click on the Scan Offline button.

Add or Remove doens't get rid of everything BitDefender, and it's possible that left-behind-entries are mucking up your system.

Reboot  (The system must be restarted to complete the uninstallation of the Bitdefender
