I understand how concerning it can be when the security app doesn't open.

Please try these steps:

1). Open PowerShell by using Administrator rights

2). Copy and paste Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.SecHealthUI -AllUsers | Reset-AppxPackage to the PowerShell window and press enter

3). Close the PowerShell and retry.

If you have already tried it, try these things.

1). Run the Windows Security Troubleshooter:

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. Find and run the Windows Security troubleshooter.

2). Repair Windows Security using DISM:

Open Command Prompt as administrator and run the following commands:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup
